I wrote a very lengthy article about my 2006 Campaign entitled Running in Circles which gives the background about why I chose to run for Congress in 2006.  My Congresswoman would not champion the critical issues, that I felt should be addressed- mainly Impeachment, 9/11 Truth, Repeal of the Patriot Act.  She worked actively to expand the Intelligence Agencies and construct Homeland Security, which I viewed as a threat to Americans and the world.

I believe the Democrats won a majority in Congress in 2006 because people wanted them to end the war and impeach the administration.  I was horribly disappointed when the first thing Congress did was to support legislation based upon the recommendations of the bogus 9/11 Commission Report.

Throughout 2007, I worked on organizing Impeachment Rallies, as well as rallies, marches, events for 9/11 Truth. I also began hosting a weekly radio show entitled Questioning War- Organizing Resistance.  The failure of the press to get out the most critical information to the public, has inspired my activism since 1992.

Only recently have I been able to devote any time to this campaign.  Prior to 9/11 my main issue was global economics, the monetary system in particular, which has probably caused even more deaths, and suffering than the recent wars. Unfortunately it sometimes takes a crisis to get people's attention and to get them to look at things that they have never questioned or thought deeply about.  In the 90s I had written extensively, spoken, organized many conferences about money, but to seriously change the system, I realized one had to change the belief system of the whole world, a daunting, if not impossible task.

Perhaps that is why I took on the issue of 9/11, I saw how it could transform the way most Americans think about their country, the world, the systems that we live under, if they realized that they had been lied to, tricked, into supporting imperial wars, and the expansion of a police state that threatened rather than ensured their liberties and lives.  Actually, educating the public about 9/11 was easier than educating the public about global economics and money, so I took on the challenge, and also did my best to include a more holistic understanding of how 9/11 was but a facet of a deeper, more systemic problem that required understanding and transformation. The financial crash, however, is getting people's attention and they are beginning to realize that there is something greatly amiss.

I did spend three days writing- Evolution of the Apocalypse- Empire's Demise- Human Renaissance to help people understand the financial crisis, as part of a series of assaults upon our country and the world, by those seeking to concentrate and expand their power at great cost to the vast majority.  We are working on a televison ad, right now, which in a short 30 seconds says-

"On 9/11, three skyscrapers were felled by two planes. World Trade Center 7, the Patriot Act, the Financial Crash, the Bailout, all share characteristics of controlled demolitions, criminal fraud, and treason. We the people, need courage to seek and speak the truth. We need to investigate the big lies. We need to arrest, impeach the terrorists.  We need to defend our Constitution, our rights, our lives. I am Carol Brouillet, Green Party Candidate for Congress and I approve this message. Vote Green for Truth, Peace and Justice."

We need an informed, educated, engaged public, a large movement that penetrates all levels of society to recognize the criminality and corruption of the current system, in order to rein it in before it causes more harm.  I believe only truth, trust, transparent, honest, accountable government can undo the horrific damage that has been done in the last few decades.  I think we need to get rid of all the incumbents who voted for the bail out, who failed to support impeachment, who have caved into corporate interests.  At the same time, we are living in a bizarre state of "emergency."  Continuity of Government gives tremendous power to the Executive Branch and Congress seems to be powerless to exercise any oversight abilities or even be aware of who is running the country now and under what rules or laws.  The Constitution is in crisis and ignored.  A coup has taken place.  We hope Congress or the State Attorney Generals, or someone will arrest Bush and Cheney, but it looks like they won't without an upsurge of outrage from the people and the press.

I think impeachment is the most non-violent, best remedy to our current situation, but I also see it as a first step towards taking the country off the war path and redirecting human energy, resources towards healing, putting us on a different path to serve people, planet, truth, justice, future generations, the survival of Life.

I am happily married and do not want to leave my kids and family to battle for change in Washington, DC, but I understand the need, and I am willing to do it, if we can awaken, inform, engage a critical majority of the public to participate in the current struggle.  We need many people to stand up to the bullies, speak truth, break the spell cast by the Rule of Fear, and replace it with the Rule of Law.   The rule of law should adhere to our Constitution, International Law, and be applied equally to all people. We cannot allow the rich and powerful to subvert the law, our perception of reality, to serve the interests of the few. A legitimate government serves people and does not tyrranize and oppress them. 

I believe the Green Party is truer to the best of American ideals and values in its committment, which I share, to ecological wisdom, social justice, non-violence, grassroots democracy, decentralization, community-based economics, respect for diversity, feminism, personal and global responsibility, sustainability. 

We created the Deception Dollar to overcome barriers to media censorship. They were so popular that the donations helped to fund the 9/11 Truth Movement and they were like seeds. People scattered them widely and some of them took root, transforming lives, bearing much fruit.  They inspired people to create websites, videos, artwork, films... So when people ask me "What can I do?" I usually have to ask them the same thing.  Everyone has talents, gifts, idea, abilities, passion, and we are all capable of learning new skills to improve our ability to communicate through words, art, music, film, actions...

There are the simple things- give money, or give time, pass out literatiure, make phone calls, put up signs, attend events, wear a button, put a bumper sticker on your car, spread the word to your friends via email, post info on other websites.

In the past, Egypt, Babylon, Persia, and Rome fell when a small percentage of the population controlled nearly all of the wealth.(2) Today, the rich have never been richer nor the poor poorer. The concentration of wealth has been achieved by conquest, as well as by one of the most powerful tools of empire—money.

Debt-based monetary systems are the building blocks of empires, and generally empires collapse or topple when they have destroyed their ecological base. The current global empire severely threatens the forests, the oceans, the climate, the fertility of the soil, the aquifers, the bees, and innumerable other species, including humanity.

There is a Cree prophecy that goes as follows (3) :
